  • A rapid Access Diagnostic Clinic for prostate cancer, a new Hepatology Unit and a 3 storey ward block has been established at Beaumont hospital.
  • Beaumont Hospital has been designated as one of the 8 centres of excellence under the national cancer control programme.
  • €3.6 million has been allocated for a cystic fibrosis unit at Beaumont Hospital which is due for completion in 2010.
  • A new dart station was opened in Clongriffin in April this year.
  • Three phases of the M50 upgrade are now complete ahead of schedule.
  • DCU has been awarded €23.8m in Cycle 5 PRTLI.
  • A new primary school, Gaelscoil Colmcille, was opened in 2008 while another primary school, Gaelscoil Mide, Ghlais Cill Bharrog, was opened in 2006.
  • The number of Gardaí in DMR North ( which includes the Dublin North East Constituency) has jumped from 467 in 1997 to 824 today.
